Desert Melody Maker are from Yuendumu in Central Australia and can play as a six-, or 9-10-piece. Their sound is an uplifting, feel-good mix of funk, rock, dub, blues and rock-reggae with lyrics sung in Warlpiri, Luritji and English. Influenced by Peter Tosh, Ziggy Marley, songs from church, and Indigenous bands classic and upcoming, they love to play live and share messages about equality and living in harmony. Appearances in 2024 include Bush Bands Bash and Desert Fest, where they will play ahead of Bunna Lawrie & Coloured Stone.
