Featuring:
6:30pm – Spindles
Spindles is an indie folk musician who writes songs about love, grief, revolution and cosmic wonderment. Layering fingerstyle guitar, violin and vocals to construct contemplative emotional landscapes, Spindles warmly welcomes you to wander with them here.
7:30pm & 9pm – Who is sticking around?
A contemporary dance work set in the transient town of Mparntwe Alice Springs, where kardiya come and go.
Friends and lovers seem to always tell you they need to move back home, then the callous search for replacements until new people can be called close friends.
Featuring Blim Dolan and Daisy May | Music by Slippery Glitch
8pm & 9:30pm – Phantom Femme Fatale
Not to be dismissed as a sexist figure of male fantasy, the ‘Phantom Femme Fatale’ is a subversive character who transgresses female subjugation with assassin-like stoicism.
Defiantly exploiting her physical prowess she pays homage to stigmatised displays of femininity. Choreographed and performed by Jenni Large, this haunting performance-art-dance straddles the entanglement of sex and power.
8:20pm – Wilful Mischief
Wilful Mischief play songs about whiskey and dead people. A Central Desert collaboration with a cheeky Irish twist, the tunes of LJ Devlin expressed by a menagerie of Mparntwe-based musicians in a time that calls for giggles in the midst of global gloom.
